Following a lawsuit by the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, 10 hectares of forestry land in the Obukhiv district of the Kyiv region have been returned to state ownership. According to the prosecutor's office, for over 20 years, these lands were in the illegal use of individuals associated with former People's Deputy Viktor Medvedchuk. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, according to UNN.
Details
According to the prosecutor's office, in 2004, officials of the Kyiv Regional State Administration and the Obukhiv District State Administration illegally removed these lands from state ownership. The plots were transferred to private structures associated with Viktor Medvedchuk, who at that time headed the Administration of the President of Ukraine.
Prosecutors also established that the mandatory decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine regarding the withdrawal of forestry land was never made, which constitutes a violation of the requirements of the land and forest legislation in force at that time.
On June 3, 2024, the state's right of ownership to the disputed land plots was officially registered. The consistent work of the prosecutor's office to return illegally alienated forest lands to the state continues,

The Prosecutor's Office secured the return of 13,585 hectares of land worth 2.2 billion UAH. Courts have already satisfied hundreds of lawsuits regarding illegally alienated plots in the region.
