In a new documentary, Spotify shares statistics based on user data that “the average annual number of Drum ‘N’ Bass streams on Spotify has increased by 94% since 2021.
According to the streaming platform, the top 10 most listened-to artists include Chase & Status, Rudimental, Bou, Goddard, Sub Focus, Charlotte Plank, Skepsis, Hybrid Minds, SHY FX, and Nia Archives.
The most frequently streamed tracks were “BACKBONE” by Chase & Status and Stormzy, “Green & Gold (feat. Charlotte Plank, Riko Dan)” by Rudimental and Skepsis, and “Wasted Youth” by Goddard and Cat Burns.
The growth in popularity is due to the fact that more and more young people are interested in the genre. As noted, 68% of listeners are mostly people under the age of 34.
The future of many British clubs is in doubt
In October, a study conducted by the Nightlife Industry Association (NTIA) showed that unless significant changes are made, the club business in the UK could become extinct by the end of the decade.

The new figures show that 37% of all clubs across the country have closed permanently since March 2020 - an average of three clubs per week and 150 per year. If this trend continues, the majority of venues in the UK will close their doors by December 31, 2029.
At the same time, there is a glimmer of hope for the genre, as drum and bass legends Chase & Status announced a UK concert tour in September for 2025.
