The future SpaceX IPO is almost guaranteed to make the world's richest man a trillionaire, but Elon Musk is not the only one who will see vast fortunes created by the long-awaited public offering, Bloomberg reports, according to UNN.
Details
Several of his key associates, including SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell and CFO Bret Johnsen, are set to become billionaires if the valuation of the rocket and AI company reaches $2 trillion, as previously reported by Bloomberg.
Nevertheless, their fortunes will be significantly smaller compared to Musk, who has concentrated ownership and voting rights in SpaceX. At a $2 trillion valuation, Shotwell's stake in SpaceX, worth approximately $2 billion, would represent a quarter of a percent of the size of Musk's stake, despite her being among the company's earliest employees.
Aside from Musk, the largest investor whose direct position in the company is listed in the prospectus is Luke Nosek, a PayPal co-founder and one of SpaceX's first institutional investors. He holds shares worth $2.5 billion at a $1.03 trillion valuation—a figure the Bloomberg Billionaires Index currently uses to value SpaceX following the merger with xAI in February. This could change after SpaceX launches its initial public offering, which is expected on June 11, with trading to begin the following day.
As Bloomberg notes, the list of new billionaires from SpaceX is as follows:
- Gwynne Shotwell. Position: President, Chief Operating Officer, and Board Member. Current SpaceX stake: $1 billion. Estimated value of stake at $2 trillion IPO: $2 billion;
- Bret Johnsen. Position: Chief Financial Officer. Current SpaceX stake: $695 million. Estimated value of stake at $2 trillion IPO: $1.4 billion;
- Luke Nosek. Position: Board Member. Current SpaceX stake: $2.5 billion. Estimated value of stake at $2 trillion IPO: $5.3 billion;
- Antonio Gracias. Position: Board Member. Current SpaceX stake: $5.9 billion. Estimated value of stake at $2 trillion IPO: $11.5 billion.
