A shooting in County Durham, Great Britain, which resulted in the death of a man, is being investigated.

Durham Police reported that on Saturday at around 5:20 p.m., officers were called to an address on Elm Street in Stanley following reports of a "disturbance." A man in his 50s was found to have been shot and, despite the efforts of medics, died at the scene.
Criminalists are currently working at the scene, and the police are conducting house-to-house rounds. The scene area is cordoned off, and restrictions may remain in effect for some time.
Detective Superintendent Neil Fuller said: "This is a truly shocking incident in which a man suffered a gunshot wound and, unfortunately, died."
