Law enforcement officers prevented a terrorist attack in the capital and detained an FSB agent who planned an assassination attempt on one of the leaders of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine. This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine, according to UNN.

The counterintelligence of the Security Service thwarted another attempt by the Rashists to carry out a terrorist attack in Kyiv and provoke panic among the residents of the capital. As a result of pre-emptive actions, an FSB agent who was preparing an assassination attempt on one of the leaders of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine was detained.
According to the investigation, a resident of the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region planned to blow up the official near his house using a homemade explosive device with remote control. The explosion was supposed to happen in the morning, when the man was leaving the entrance of a high-rise building for work.
The agent arrived in Kyiv on the instructions of a curator from the FSB and settled in a rented apartment. After that, he began to track the locations and routes of movement of the official. For conspiracy, he regularly changed his appearance and clothes.
He coordinated all his actions with an FSB officer, whose unit specializes in sabotage and terrorist acts in Ukraine. He recruited the man in the fall of 2025. The identity of this curator has already been established by the SBU counterintelligence.
SBU officers prevented the terrorist attack and detained the agent after he conducted reconnaissance at the site of the planned terrorist attack.
During a search, a smartphone with evidence of cooperation with the Russian Federation was seized from the detainee. SBU investigators informed the agent of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Part 2 of Article 111 (treason committed under martial law); Part 2 of Article 15, Part 2 of Article 258 (completed attempt at a terrorist act). The perpetrator is in custody. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The agent's curator also received a suspicion. His actions were qualified as a completed attempt at a terrorist act. Comprehensive measures are underway to bring this person to justice.
