The SBU detained two 15-year-old schoolchildren who were recruited by Russian special services for terrorist attacks in lyceums. Explosives and firearms were seized from the suspects.

The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police have uncovered attempts by Russian special services to organize terrorist attacks in two Ukrainian schools. According to the investigation, two 15-year-old boys were involved in preparing the crimes. This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine, as conveyed by UNN.

Details

The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police prevented a series of bloody terrorist attacks in Kirovohrad and Odesa regions. As a result of pre-emptive actions, two local schoolchildren were exposed who, on Russia's orders, were supposed to blow up their lyceums and shoot classmates with firearms.

 - the post states.

Law enforcement officers established that Russian special services recruited two schoolchildren through Telegram and TikTok groups. In particular, it refers to the Telegram channel "ETERSSA", through which Russian special services systematically try to select and recruit underage citizens of Ukraine.

According to available data, during recruitment, the Russians used manipulation. In particular, topics of achieving a "just goal", protecting relatives from reprisal, "punishing the guilty" who offended them at school, etc.

As for the two detained individuals, Russian special services pushed the schoolchildren not only to commit terrorist acts but also to commit suicide immediately after the "main crime." Thus, the Rashists hoped to get rid of "unnecessary witnesses." It has been documented how a 15-year-old lyceum student in Kirovohrad region received a task from a curator from Russia to make a homemade bomb from improvised means.

- the post states.

According to available data, the young man was supposed to bring the finished explosive device to his educational institution and detonate it during a break between lessons. In addition, following the enemy's instructions, he planned to take his grandfather's shotgun and a hunting knife with him to finish off the survivors himself.

SBU officers exposed the minor in advance and documented his contacts with a Russian special services officer.

During searches at the suspect's place of residence, a homemade explosive device (IED), components for its manufacture, a shotgun, as well as a computer and smartphone with evidence of cooperation with the enemy were seized.

- the SBU states.

At the same time, in Odesa region, law enforcement officers exposed another student at the recruitment stage. According to the investigation, Russian special services planned to send him firearms and a hunting knife by mail to attack lyceum students.

According to the case materials, the young man was supposed to use these weapons for a mass murder of students at his lyceum. Currently, investigators of the Security Service have notified the 15-year-old suspect from Kirovohrad region of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 14, Part 1 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (preparation for a terrorist act).

- the post states.

He faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property. The investigation is ongoing to bring all those responsible to justice.
