The Security Service and the National Police detained a 16-year-old resident of Dnipro who set fire to an Armed Forces SUV "on the order of Russia" and planned a series of arson attacks. Now he faces up to 8 years in prison. This was reported by the SBU press service, UNN reports.

The Security Service and the National Police detained another enemy accomplice who was preparing new arson attacks in Dnipro "on the order of Russia". The main target of the enemy was the official vehicles of the Defense Forces involved in combat missions on the front line

- the SBU said in a statement.

Reportedly, the young man came to the attention of the Russian special services  when he was looking for "easy money" on Telegram channels.  At the end of July this year, a representative of the Russian Federation contacted the Dnipro resident remotely and offered him cooperation in exchange for "quick money.

On the instructions of the occupiers, their agent put on a balaclava and conducted reconnaissance near the parking lots of Ukrainian defenders at night. The guy identified three potential targets and took pictures of them for "approval" by his Russian handler.

It is reported that after the "pushback" from the Russian Federation, the young man arrived at night in the parking lot of one of the military SUVs and set it on fire with a flammable mixture. He then filmed the fire with his own phone camera for "reporting" to the aggressor.

"In the future, the occupiers planned to use these media files to prepare information and psychological special operations about the alleged presence of an anti-Ukrainian underground in the frontline city," the SBU said.

Law enforcement officers detained him in hot pursuit. During the search of his apartment, they seized a cell phone and clothes with evidence of criminal activity.

Security Service investigators served him a notice of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces and other military formations).

A measure of restraint was imposed on him in the form of round-the-clock house arrest. Despite his young age, the boy faces up to 8 years in prison.
