Russian shelling of Ukraine claimed the lives of 13 people, with 6 missing in Dnipro, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko reported on social media on Tuesday, UNN reports.
As a result of the Russian combined shelling of Ukraine, 13 people were killed and more than 100 were injured. The greatest destruction of civilian infrastructure occurred in Kyiv, Dnipro, and Kharkiv
According to the minister, rescuers in the capital have been working since the night in almost all districts — at 29 locations. Most fires have been extinguished, and work continues at 6 active locations in 5 districts of Kyiv, he indicated.
"Unfortunately, as a result of the Russian shelling of Kyiv, 4 people died. More than 60 other residents were injured and sought medical assistance. Among those who received shrapnel wounds is a three-year-old child," Klymenko reported.
According to his data, residential buildings, a car dealership, a utility company, an academy, outbuildings, and a gas station — civilian infrastructure — were damaged. "A fire due to the attack also broke out on the territory of the MIA Service Center 8041. Citizens who had an appointment will be able to receive the service at any other MIA service center in Kyiv," the minister noted.
According to the Ministry of Health, "in Kyiv, as a result of the shelling, five medical institutions were damaged and partially destroyed — two specialized medical facilities, as well as primary health care centers in Podilskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, and Holosiivskyi districts; the latter suffered the most, with the second and third floors destroyed there." "Medics and patients were in shelters. There are no casualties at these facilities," the Ministry of Health reported.
As the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted, it was a difficult night for Dnipro and Kharkiv as well.
"In Dnipro, apartment buildings were destroyed. 9 people died, including a child. Among the victims of the shelling is our rescuer — the deputy head of the fire and rescue squad, Major Anton Yarmolenko. At the moment of the strike, he was on his way to a call. Sincere condolences to the family and the team," Klymenko indicated.
Another 35 residents of Dnipro, according to him, were injured. "We also have information regarding 6 missing citizens," the minister reported.
A rescuer and two civilians were also injured tonight in Kamianske, he added.
"In Kharkiv, houses and a food enterprise were damaged, more than 10 people were injured," Klymenko indicated.
In addition, according to his data, "destruction of civilian objects was recorded in Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions." "In the Kyiv region, rescuers extinguished residential buildings, a postal terminal, and cars," Klymenko noted.
According to him, all necessary units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system are involved in the liquidation. "In such moments, not only timely rescue from destroyed houses is important, but also psychological support for the victims and the recording of another Russian crime. I thank everyone who, despite the danger and at the cost of their own lives, saves and helps others," he emphasized.
