A Russian strike damaged the protective shelter of the Hryhoriy Skovoroda Museum in the Kharkiv region; UNESCO has already been informed of the damage, the Ministry of Culture reported on social media on Saturday, UNN reports.
A Russian drone attack damaged the protective shelter over the building of the H.S. Skovoroda National Literary Memorial Museum — a historical monument of national significance, the "House where H.S. Skovoroda lived and died."
According to preliminary information provided by the Ministry of Culture, "as a result of the attack, eight roof spans of the protective shelter were damaged." "In one of the spans, specialists recorded a significant hole, while seven others sustained damage from shrapnel. At the same time, the structure of the monument itself and the load-bearing structures of the shelter were not affected," the ministry stated.
The consequences of the shelling are being documented.
"The Ministry of Culture of Ukraine has already informed UNESCO of the damage. In the near future, the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration will also send an official letter to the organization regarding the possibility of carrying out repair work and eliminating the consequences of the shelling by a contracting organization," the Ministry of Culture noted.
