The strike by Russian forces using a jet-powered drone on a train locomotive in Odesa region killed the driver and his assistant, Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, chairman of the board of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia," reported on social media on Wednesday, UNN writes.

"A UAV threat was recorded, and the monitoring team issued an order to stop—the train was entering the station for the safe evacuation of passengers. The sudden maneuver of the jet-powered Shahed left only a matter of minutes, and the locomotive crew did not have enough time to stop completely and evacuate themselves," the head of Ukrzaliznytsia said.
According to him, "340 passengers and the train crew were evacuated to safety. There were no casualties among them. The transportation of passengers to Odesa by buses has now been arranged."
"This is horrific daily terror and a targeted attack on civilians. We bow our heads before the heroism of our colleagues—they died while stopping the train to ensure the safe disembarkation and rescue of their passengers," Pertsovskyi stressed.
Update
According to Oleg Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, "an 18-year-old girl was also injured in Odesa region as a result of an attack by a jet-powered UAV. The injured woman was taken to hospital in serious condition. Doctors are providing all necessary assistance."
