Long-range strikes on Russian territory, which have become a daily reality, demonstrate that the enemy no longer has a deep rear. This was stated in an interview with Euronews by the CEO and CTO of the Ukrainian defense company Fire Point, Iryna Terekh, reports UNN.
"With Flamingo and the modernized version of the FP-1, we have achieved another world record for a flight range of 3,000 kilometers. We are rethinking the doctrine of the 'deep rear' and, in a way, rewriting military terminology. Currently, our enemy has no such concept as a deep rear. And that is good for us," stated Iryna Terekh.
According to her, what became important was not just the ability to achieve such a strike range, but the fact that the strikes have become systemic – hundreds of Ukrainian drones fly to the territory of the Russian Federation every day and every night.
"Now we see every day that at least 300 Ukrainian drones fly every night, and approximately the same number during the day, large drones heading towards Russian territories. Not one drone, but the ability to carry out daily launches in a predictable manner," said Iryna Terekh, explaining that it is precisely this predictable repeatability of success that leads to progress.
According to Terekh, the main thing, not only in the case of UAVs but also with the Flamingo missile, is the ability for continuous improvement and scaling of production.
"Flamingo is, of course, a strong argument, an important one that in a certain sense changes the rules of the game. But the most important thing about Flamingo is that we are ramping up its production, that we are increasing its accuracy, that we are using it as a very weighty argument. In essence, it is our pen to write the terms for future peace negotiations," Terekh believes.
The CEO of Fire Point added that the technological improvement of the company's products occurs constantly.
"Currently, it is a continuous cycle. After each use on the battlefield, we change and adjust something to make them more effective. Let's say, it's a daily, weekly cycle. Basically, we have to adapt the head (guidance unit), which contains the main computing power. The software still fits into a small part, be it a drone or a missile," explained Iryna Terekh, and added that such continuity became possible due to the simplification of bureaucratic procedures in the Ukrainian defense industry.
