Portugal appointed its new prime minister on Wednesday after the final results of the March 10 election were announced following the counting of ballots abroad.
The 51-year-old lawyer and experienced parliamentarian replaced Antonio Costa of the Socialist Party, who had been in power since 2015 but lacked a stable parliamentary majority.
