Police have located the driver of the crossover who allegedly provoked a fatal accident in the Mykolaiv region, where 12 people died and six were injured, the National Police reported on Saturday, writes UNN.
According to witnesses, the accident may have been caused by a violation of traffic rules by the driver of a Nissan Murano, which was moving in the opposite direction relative to the minibus. Law enforcement officers organized a special police operation and located the driver of the crossover, who allegedly provoked the accident and fled the scene
Currently, police are conducting initial investigative actions. Police investigators, forensic experts, and operatives are working at the scene.
The issue of legal qualification regarding the driver of the crossover is being decided.

As reported by the mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Senkevych, among the victims are employees of the municipal enterprise "Mykolaivelectrotrans". "They were going on vacation with their families. It is very hard to realize this. It should not have happened," Senkevych stated on social media.
"Tomorrow, July 5, we declare a day of mourning in the city. Eternal memory. This is another painful reminder: on the road, you need to be extremely attentive. Even an ordinary day off can turn into a tragedy," noted the mayor of Mykolaiv.
