Poland is recording the spread of disinformation regarding the upcoming presidential elections

Recently, disinformation about the presidential elections in Poland has been spreading in the English-speaking segment of the Internet, with attackers impersonating, among others, CNN. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Digitalization of Poland Krzysztof Gawkowski in the social network X, writes UNN.

In recent days, we have noticed disinformation in the English-language infosphere regarding the upcoming presidential elections in Poland. The messages concern, in particular, possible obstruction of the electoral process, the authors impersonate CNN

- Gawkowski said.

According to him, the Polish Center for Disinformation Analysis (NASK) is monitoring the case and reporting disinformation.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Poland called on everyone to carefully check sources of information, not to distribute materials from unverified sources and to report examples of disinformation to NASK.

The state cyber security services of Poland detected unauthorized access to the IT infrastructure of POLSA. The affected systems are protected.

Poland is also negotiating with social networks to protect against cyberattacks during elections. The government is working with Meta, Alphabet and Microsoft to stop disinformation attempts.
