In western Turkey, a passenger bus accident has killed at least eight people, including a nine-month-old baby. About 33 others were injured. This was reported by the Associated Press, according to UNN.

The accident occurred around 01:40 local time in Denizli province. A bus belonging to the Pamukkale travel company, traveling from Izmir to the resort city of Antalya, crashed into a guardrail and caught fire. There were 38 passengers and three crew members on board.
Among the dead are the 50-year-old bus driver and the infant's father. Photos released after the crash show the completely burnt-out shell of the vehicle on the side of the highway.

According to local media, the tragedy occurred on the last day of the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha. During this period in Turkey, traffic intensity traditionally increases significantly due to the mass travel of citizens to visit relatives and vacation spots.
