During their visit to Washington, First Lady Olena Zelenska and Deputy Defense Minister Natalia Kalmykova got acquainted with the work of the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, which is one of the largest and most important hospitals in the United States.
During the meeting, the possibilities of building a high-quality and comprehensive system of psychological assistance for the Ukrainian military within the framework of the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Program were discussed. Particular attention was paid to the positive experience of the United States in implementing the Real Warriors information campaign, which aims to support the military and veterans.
The discussions also focused on the possibility of a partnership between the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and the Rivne Regional Hospital for War Veterans, located in the city of Klevan.

"The functioning of such a center is a great example to follow. This is the approach that should be applied in medical centers in Ukraine.
