Olena Sosiedka, co-founder of Concord Bank, which is in the process of liquidation, thanked journalist Yevhen Plinsky for publicly joining the struggle to restore justice in the situation with Concord, UNN reports.

Context

The journalist filed a request for public information with the Supreme Court, demanding that the Supreme Court judges conduct an impartial, independent and fair hearing of the cassation appeal in the case of Concord Bank.

"The ranks of fighters for justice in the situation around our bank Concorde have been replenished! Our respected journalist Yevhen Plinsky has joined our fight. Mr. Plinsky, we thank you for your willingness to help us restore justice. Your appeal to the Supreme Court to conduct an impartial, independent and fair review of the cassation appeal in the Concord Bank case is in line with our position. We are also convinced that everything should be done according to the law," Olena Sosiedka wrote on her Facebook page.

She noted that the bank's shareholders are open to dialogue and are ready to respond to any requests from journalists, including Plinsky, to ensure objectivity in media publications.

"Your attention to our case not only helps to reveal all aspects of the situation, but also gives us the strength to move forward. We hope that the public interest in this topic will not fade away, because together we can achieve justice!" emphasized Olena Sosiedka.

In addition, it published a video showing how the liquidation of Concord Bank is taking place. In particular, it indicates that Danylo Hetmantsev, chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy, is interested in destroying the financial institution

Earlier it became known that  Concorde's shareholders appealed the decision of the National Bank of Ukraine to withdraw the bank from the market.  The courts of first and appellate instances recognized the decision of the NBU to revoke the license and liquidate Concord Bank as unlawful and overturned it. However, Ukrainian legislation is written in such a way that the process of withdrawing a banking institution from the market, once started, is irreversible.

Despite the war in Ukraine, the process of removing banks from the market has not stopped. Thus, since February 24, 2022, liquidation was initiated for 8 banks. In 2023, for the first time in Ukraine, not only bankrupt banks but also profitable institutions were subject to liquidation and license revocation, including Concord Bank. As Olena Sosedka stated, at the time the regulator announced the decision to liquidate the bank, the financial institution had enough highly liquid assets to make all the necessary payments in 2-3 weeks. But the process of bank liquidation is strictly regulated by law and can generally take up to three years.
