Since the beginning of 2024, Russian occupation forces have exported about 60,000 tons of wheat from the seaport of temporarily occupied Mariupol. This was reported by the Mariupol City Council, according to UNN.

According to available information, at least eight vessels carrying grain have been dispatched from the port since January. This is reported by the occupation-controlled "Rosselkhoznadzor administration of the 'DPR'".

Earlier, the occupation administration announced the development of a so-called "development strategy" for the port until 2040. According to these plans, the cargo capacity of vessels is to be increased to 25,000 tons, whereas it currently ranges from 3,000 to 10,000 tons.
