Prime Minister Jonas Stere said that Norway is contributing to meeting Ukraine's urgent need to increase funding for gas imports. This is important to provide electricity and heating to homes, businesses and government institutions.

"The funding is provided under the Nansen Support Program for Ukraine, and NOK 1 billion ($95 million) is allocated from appropriations for the energy sector of Ukraine for 2025," the website says.

It is noted that the funds will be directed through the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to purchase gas from Western sources.
