US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that peace negotiations with Russia and Ukraine have so far "unfortunately not been productive," but the US is "ready to continue playing this role," UNN reports, citing The Guardian.

"If we see an opportunity to hold negotiations that will be productive, rather than counterproductive, and that have a chance to be fruitful, we are ready to play that role," Rubio indicated.
He noted that the war "will not end with a military victory for one side or the other," as victories have traditionally been defined, and he hopes that one day a solution will be found.
The US is ready to participate, but "we are also not interested in participating in an endless cycle of meetings that lead nowhere."
