NATO now has the most robust defense plans since the Cold War to "deter any enemy and defend every inch of its territory." This was stated during a meeting of defense ministers in Brussels by Chairman of the NATO Military Committee Admiral Rob Bauer, discussing new defense plans, UNN reports.
These are the most comprehensive defense plans that NATO has had since the end of the Cold War. Never before have NATO plans and national defense plans been so closely interlinked.

The Chairman of NATO's Military Committee emphasized the importance of the new defense plans and how they will shape the Alliance's armed forces for decades to come. He also noted that Allies are now actively working to maximize the effectiveness of the new defense capabilities.
The meeting was focused on strengthening NATO's deterrence and defense by maximizing the implementation of new defense plans. The participants of this meeting expressed their conviction that the outcome of the war in Ukraine will decide the fate of the world.

According to the Deputy Secretary General of the Alliance , Mircea Geoană, NATO countries need more troops on alert, with greater capabilities, and more effective command and control.
Of course, all this requires money, time, and energy.
He recalled that at last year's NATO summit in Vilnius, leaders agreed on a new target for defense spending of at least 2% of GDP. This, he said, underscores the seriousness of the challenges faced by the alliance.
