The mother of Vyacheslav Zinchenko, who is suspected of murdering linguist and professor of Lviv Polytechnic Iryna Farion, Olena Zinchenko believes that her son did not kill Farion, but was possibly an accomplice. Zinchenko told about this to journalists of “Slidstvo.Info”, reports UNN.

The suspect's mother, who has seen the published photos and videos of law enforcement officers showing the suspect in the murder of Irina Farion, but is convinced that the perpetrator will never attract so much attention.

According to her, she had not noticed anything suspicious in her son's behavior in recent weeks, and he had no motives for the murder, and she believes that the guy with the glasses in the police photo has tanned skin and a slimmer build than her son.

“He was a very, very nice guy. Exactly nice, from all sides. I don't believe he could have shot a person, maybe someone used him to distract attention at the time of the crime. He always attracted attention, he was the captain of the football team for a long time. His father provided his son's finances, and Slava earned extra money on the Internet with cryptocurrency,” the woman adds.

She also said that her son was in Lviv for a long period last spring, studying to become a UAV operator at the Dronarium Academy.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that on July 25, an 18-year-old man allegedly involved in the premeditated murder of Iryna Farion was detained in Dnipro  .

According to Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko, law enforcement officers have enough evidence to claim that it was the 18-year-old man detained in Dnipro who shot at linguist Iryna Farion. According to him, the investigation lasted 139 hours.

Law enforcement officers are checking the suspect in the murder of Irina Farion for involvement in the neo-Nazi movement, which is centered in Russia.

The Galician District Court of Lviv sent Vyacheslav Zinchenko, who is suspected of murdering Irina Farion, to custody without the possibility of bail.

Zinchenko himself does not admit his guilt.
