At the same time, 61% of respondents support the government's current approach to relations with the EU, but only 19% do so confidently. Experts warn that such a "cautious" strategy by Labour could lead to a loss of support among both progressive voters and in traditional party regions.
Researchers note that returning to the single market or customs union could be a politically complex step, as it would reopen discussions about sovereignty and require significant concessions in regulatory policy.
According to analysts, the current position of the British authorities on Brexit appears contradictory, as the government acknowledges the economic losses from leaving the EU but does not demonstrate readiness for a radical review of the course.
