Ministry of Energy: Mine in Donetsk region de-energized due to shelling, no electricity shortage

A mine in Donetsk Oblast was de-energized as a result of enemy shelling, and workers were trapped underground. There is no shortage of electricity. This was reported on Friday by the Ministry of Energy, UNN reports. 

Generation 

There is no electricity shortage and it is not expected for the current day. Necessary repairs are being carried out at KhNPP nuclear unit. 7 NPP units are operating at full capacity

It is also reported that reserves of heat and hydro generation were used to cover the needs of consumers. 

"The situation is under control. The system is balanced. No outage schedules are applied," the agency said. 

Power off 

Due to the hostilities, the equipment of a substation in Donetsk region was disconnected. As a result , almost 8,000 household consumers and a mine (5 workers were in the mine) lost power. The agency reported that the mine is now powered by a generator. 

As a result of rocket attacks during the day in two communities in Chernihiv region, 10 kV overhead lines were damaged, about 1,500 consumers were cut off from electricity. 

In addition, a high-voltage line in Kyiv region was reportedly briefly disconnected due to technological problems. 

Import and export 

For the current day, electricity imports are forecasted at 6652 MWh. Exports are also expected to reach 4310 MWh.

On Thursday, March 14, Ukrainian power engineers restored the second power line to the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant .
