The Italian Prime Minister is visiting the Persian Gulf countries to strengthen strategic partnerships. The visit aims to ensure stable oil and gas supplies.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Friday as part of a trip to the Persian Gulf countries focused on energy security. This was reported by a source in her office, according to UNN with reference to CNN.

"This is the first visit to the region by an EU, G20, and NATO leader since the start of the conflict, during which meetings are planned with key representatives of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates," the source said.

According to media reports, the purpose of Meloni's visit is to strengthen relations with these countries and reaffirm Italy's support in the face of Iranian attacks, as well as to consolidate an increasingly strong strategic partnership.

"The mission also aims to strengthen national energy security: the Gulf countries are the most important source of oil and gas for Italy and play a crucial role in global energy prices," the source added.
