The assistant to American actor Matthew Perry has been sentenced to three years and five months in prison for administering a fatal dose of ketamine to him. The sentence was announced by a court in Los Angeles, AP reports, according to UNN.

Matthew Perry, best known for his role as Chandler in the TV series "Friends," died in October 2023 at the age of 54. According to the autopsy, the cause of death was the acute effects of ketamine.

Earlier in the case, a California doctor who sold the narcotic substance to the actor was also sentenced. He was sentenced to two and a half years in prison.
The investigation established that Perry's assistant administered ketamine to him shortly before the actor's death.
