In Kyiv, 5G was officially launched in pilot mode, the Ministry of Digital Transformation reported on Wednesday, writes UNN.
The 5G pilot was launched in Kyiv. After successful testing of the technology in Lviv, Borodianka, and Kharkiv, we are launching a 5G zone in the capital. The new generation communication will operate in the central part of the city — from Maidan Nezalezhnosti to Bessarabska Square
In addition, as indicated, mobile operators have deployed additional locations where 5G can already be caught.
"After Kyiv, the pilot network will be expanded to Odesa," the Ministry of Digital Transformation noted.
How to connect to 5G?
Usually, the phone picks up the new network automatically. If the 5G icon does not appear, the Ministry of Digital Transformation advises trying a few simple steps:
- Check in the cellular data settings whether your phone supports 5G, and update the OS.
- Turn off power saving mode, switch to Airplane mode, or restart the phone.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation provided results showing what 5G delivers:
- average connection speed — 600-700 Mbps, and sometimes exceeds 1 Gbps;
- the connection works stably under load and during peak hours;
- over 1.5 million Ukrainians have tested the technology.
