Acting Minister of Defense of Ukraine Yevhenii Khmara stated that he agreed with the new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mykhailo Drapatyi, "to be honest with each other, to resolve all differences in the interests of Ukrainian soldiers," and added that they are working on practical steps to end the war on Ukraine's terms and force Russia into a long-term peace, reports UNN.

Ukraine will continue its strike and technological pressure on Russia by all means. Discussed this with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi. I am confident in Major General Drapatyi, whom I had the honor of nominating yesterday for the position of Commander-in-Chief. We agreed to be honest with each other, to resolve all differences in the interests of Ukrainian soldiers. Together we will be able to fulfill the President's instructions and ensure conditions for maximum effectiveness of our Defense Forces. Brigade and corps commanders voiced specific challenges facing the Defense Forces today.

- Khmara reported.

The head of the Ministry of Defense outlined our first steps – to support the front, strengthen partner support, and maximally transfer the war to the aggressor's land. To this end, stable and flexible access for combat units to effective means, including long-range ones, the development of technologies and asymmetric solutions will be ensured.

The goal remains unchanged – the technological superiority of our army over the Russian enemy and the maximum preservation of human life through technological changes. We must scale up what we are already effective in: deep strike and middle strike, UAVs and other solutions that save soldiers' lives and more effectively destroy the enemy.

- Khmara added.

The head of the Ministry of Defense also discussed with the Commander-in-Chief the vision for the future.

We have a common position on the development of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy supported our vision. We are working on a strategy – practical steps on how to end the war on Ukraine's terms and force Russia into a long-term peace. Our goal is a strong Ukraine.

- Khmara summarized.
