Iran's central military command, "Khatam al-Anbiya," has warned that any future US attack on Iran will trigger an "even harsher response than before." This was stated in a report published by the Iranian state news agency IRNA, as reported by UNN with reference to CNN.
In the statement, released before US President Donald Trump announced the cancellation of strikes against Iran planned for today, Washington is accused of duplicity: "On the one hand, the United States speaks of agreements and negotiations, and on the other, it carries out hostile actions."
It also notes that this "clear contradiction in America's words and actions is the primary source of instability in the region" and "endangers international trade and economic security, especially in the Strait of Hormuz."
The command warned that if the United States "carries out another attack on Iran," the conflict "will not only exacerbate regional instability but could extend far beyond its current scale."
The statement also contains a threat to global energy flows: "In light of recent US threats against Iran's oil infrastructure, we declare that oil and gas exports will remain available to everyone, or they will be available to no one."
Earlier on Thursday, Trump warned that the US would deliver a "VERY HARD strike tonight" to Iran and vowed to seize Kharg Island, through which about 90% of Iranian oil exports pass. According to sources, plans to seize the island had been under development for several months but were repeatedly postponed as they were considered too risky.
