Nearly 70% of water and heat supply facilities are already equipped with backup power as part of resilience plans. Details

Under the chairmanship of the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko, the ninth meeting of the Coordination Center for the implementation of comprehensive resilience plans for regions and cities was held.

Key points:

🔹 453 elements of engineering and technical protection are currently under construction;

🔹 the volume of funding for measures to protect critical infrastructure facilities amounts to UAH 22.2 billion;

🔹 communities already have 70 block-modular boiler houses with a total capacity of 316 MW;

🔹 backup power has been provided for 837.4 MW of the needs of water and heat supply facilities — this is 69.2% of the total requirement.

Special attention was paid to preparations for the 2026/2027 heating season: the installation of cogeneration units, modular boiler houses, and providing communities with generators.

Today, the key is to ensure compliance with work schedules, accelerate the installation of equipment, and simultaneously implement measures to protect critical infrastructure. The Ministry of Development carries out constant monitoring of project implementation in the regions and coordinates work with communities, Regional Military Administrations, and the Restoration Agency. I would specifically highlight the Volyn, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Zhytomyr regions – which are carrying out engineering and technical protection work the fastest

- noted the Vice Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine — Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, Oleksiy Kuleba.

The Ministry of Development, together with the Ministry of Energy, the Energy Support Fund, regional military administrations, international partners, and the Restoration Agency, continues to coordinate work for the stable passage of the next heating season.
