In the capital, police detained a 41-year-old man who, threatening with a combat grenade, attacked a female employee of a cafe on Kyrylivska Street. Law enforcement officers determined that a man in a medical mask entered the cafe. Approaching the 45-year-old female employee of the establishment, he took out a combat grenade and began demanding that she give him a gold chain. The woman was not frightened and refused. Then the attacker sprayed a gas canister in her face, forcibly tore a gold earring from her ear, and fled, leaving the dangerous ammunition.
Police tracked down and detained the perpetrator. He turned out to be a 41-year-old serviceman who is in AWOL status.
Investigators notified the suspect of suspicion of committing a robbery. For the crime, he faces up to 15 years in prison.
