The IAEA Board of Governors strongly condemned Russia's missile attack on the Okhmatdyt children's hospital in Kyiv on July 8 and decided to continue providing technical assistance to Ukraine, including support for the hospital.

Today, on July 12, the IAEA Board of Governors condemned the missile attack on the Okhmatdyt children's hospital in Kyiv on July 8, blaming Russia for the attack. UNN writes with reference to the Ministry of Economy.

The IAEA Board of Governors strongly condemned the military strike by Russia on July 8 against the National Children's Specialized Hospital "Okhmatdyt" in Kyiv.

The resolution condemning this act was adopted at an emergency closed meeting on July 12, held at the initiative of Ukraine. The document also notes that the missile strike interfered with the IAEA's technical assistance to Ukraine.

I am grateful to the IAEA Board of Governors for its resolute response to the openly terrorist actions of our enemy. The terrorist country has shown the whole world that it can easily direct its weapons not just against civilians, but against seriously ill children. The whole world can see it. In addition, such a brazen attack as the one on the Okhmatdyt hospital is an unacceptable violation of the IAEA's basic principles and values, undermining the foundation of international nuclear safety and security

- commented on the decision the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko.

The IAEA Board of Governors has decided to continue its technical cooperation with Ukraine, in particular by providing further support to the National Children's Specialized Hospital "Okhmatdyt" and other medical institutions. This will ensure uninterrupted provision of medical services and strengthen radiation safety and protection measures.

The Council also called on member states to provide Ukraine with political and financial support, including through the provision of nuclear safety and security equipment.

Recall

Today, on July 12, the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital held a requiem ceremony for the victims of the Russian missile strike that took place on July 8.
