The leader of Hungary's new ruling party Tisza and likely future Prime Minister Péter Magyar stated that he does not support Ukraine's accelerated accession to the EU, noting that Ukraine must go through the same accession procedure as other countries. Magyar made this statement during a press conference, as reported by UNN.
We have said from the very beginning that we do not support Ukraine's accelerated accession to the EU.
According to him, it is impossible to accept a country that is at war. He added that EU leaders with whom he held talks believe, like him, that it is currently impossible to accept Ukraine.
In addition, he believes that Ukraine must go through the same accession procedure as other countries, which, in his opinion, will not happen within 10 years.
