The Russian occupiers are looking for ways to exert pressure from the most unexpected directions and using weapons that will complicate the work of Ukrainian air defense systems. This was reported by the head of the press center of the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine Natalia Humeniuk during a telethon, commenting on the Russian ballistic missile strike on Kyiv from Crimea, UNN reports.
Asked whether the claim that Russia is preparing a large-scale missile strike and has amassed Zircon in Crimea is true, Humeniuk replied: "A certain hype was created with the help of the media. In fact, the conversation was about the fact that the enemy can launch such strikes and this should be taken into account.
She noted that the practice has already been seen when Russia struck Kyiv with ballistic missiles from Crimea.
This means that the enemy is looking for ways to exert pressure from the most unexpected directions, and using weapons that will complicate the work of our air defense systems. We are saying that we are aware of what types of weapons the enemy is ready to use, that it does not stop modernizing its weapons, that it is trying to find ways to put pressure on the population of Ukraine virtually throughout the entire territory, not just in the frontline areas

Andriy Kovalenko, head of the National Security and Defense Council's Central Intelligence Center, reported that during the March 25 missile attack on Kyiv, Russians used a Zircon hypersonic missile .
Director of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise Oleksandr Ruvin previously shared the details of the examination of the Zircon missiles used by the enemy to strike Ukraine in February this year.
"The 3M22 Zircon missile consists of component parts that are marked with the appropriate markings 3L22, 3B22, etc., meaning that the letter may differ, but the general marking for missiles is 3M22. Several fragments are laser engraved and embossed with the inscription 3L22, which indicates a specific assembly from a specific product. In addition, the bolts on the steering mechanisms are marked with the number 26, which is a feature of Zircon. Other markings on the missile wreckage indicate the date of production of its components - late 2023-2024. This means that the missile was assembled recently. The microelectronics are poorly preserved and practically impossible to analyze due to physical damage. Measures are being taken to determine the composition of metal from fragments of the missile body and thermal insulation materials. Significant fragmentation of the missile makes identification difficult, but we can already say that the weapon does not meet the tactical and technical characteristics declared by the enemy. In the course of further expert research, all possible information will be detailed," said the Director of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise.
He added that the missile does not meet the characteristics declared by Russia and does not contain any of the latest technologies.
