Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda criticized the visit of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico to Russia. UNN reports this with reference to Nausėda's post on social network X.
Nausėda hinted that Fico was so eager to preserve the transit of Russian gas that he would not hesitate to meet with a war criminal.
“How cheap is your love? There are people who go to Russia with love and would strangle themselves to death just to meet a war criminal.
This is not Lithuania's way. We choose energy independence and real market prices - without any political ties!” Nausėda wrote.
Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico said that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's visit to Moscow was a response to Ukraine's reluctance to continue transiting Russian gas to Europe.
