The head of the AntAC, Vitaliy Shabunin, has been discharged from the Armed Forces of Ukraine due to deteriorating vision. The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) is investigating proceedings regarding his possible draft evasion and fraud.

Vitaliy Shabunin, head of the Anti-Corruption Action Center, was discharged from the Armed Forces of Ukraine a few days ago. The grounds for his discharge were deteriorating vision, he wrote today on his Telegram channel.

"My service is over. The discharge order was signed a few days ago. I am already home. I will spend time with my family, stabilize my vision condition, and fully return to AntAC activities,"

- he wrote.

According to him, he spent over 4 years in the Defense Forces.

As is known, Vitaliy Shabunin, head of the Anti-Corruption Action Center, did not perform any military service duties, which did not prevent him from receiving money from the AFU every month. In December 2025, the criminal case regarding the evasion of military service by a soldier of the 207th Separate Territorial Defense Battalion marked its 2nd anniversary. This was reported by Volodymyr Boiko, a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

According to his data, during his fictitious service in the 207th Separate Territorial Defense Battalion alone, Shabunin received over 900,000 UAH in salary, additional remuneration for performing combat/special tasks, and even "combat pay." The veteran noted that the proceedings against Shabunin include materials regarding the evasion of military service by Sherembey, a board member of the Anti-Corruption Action Center, who was fictitiously listed in the 207th Separate Territorial Defense Battalion along with Shabunin.

According to Boiko's information, the Third Investigation Department of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) in Kyiv continues its pre-trial investigation into other episodes of this criminal proceeding: the misappropriation by Shabunin of a vehicle imported into Ukraine for AFU needs without paying customs duties; the illegal acquisition of the rank of "junior sergeant" by Shabunin based on a forged certificate of direct participation in combat operations; the illegal accrual of "combat" payments to Shabunin; and the unauthorized abandonment of the place of service by Shabunin, among others.

As Vitaliy Shabunin stated, in the 9th grade he did not pass the medical commission at the military enlistment office – a dermatologist rejected him due to moles on his body, in connection with which he was issued a certificate of unfitness for military service for health reasons.
