"In the morning of July 23, a massive cyberattack was launched by the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine on the banking system of the aggressor state. As a result of the attack, the work of payment systems, mobile applications of banks, personal accounts, public transport payment systems, etc. was stopped or significantly complicated. There are also interruptions in the work of major mobile operators and Internet providers in Russia," the source told UNN .
According to sources, users throughout the Russian Federation complain that they cannot use the digital services of a number of major banking institutions in Russia.
"In particular, online services of Alfa-Bank, SberBank, Raiffeisen Bank, VTB Bank, RSHB Bank, Gazprombank, T-Bank, and iBank online banking are not working or have significantly degraded. In addition, the work of the terrorists' national payment systems - the SBP Rapid Payment System and the National Payment Card System - has been blocked or significantly disrupted, the source said.
Russian users on social media are also complaining about the inability to use mobile communications or the mobile Internet from Beeline, Megafon, Tele2, and Rostelecom.
Russia has already admitted that the massive failure of online services is the result of an attack by "politically motivated hackers." At the same time, Ukrainian intelligence sources note that the attack is still ongoing and is far from over.
