Controlling blood sugar levels is important for preventing diseases such as type 2 diabetes. Nutritionists have listed several foods that will also be an ally in the process of losing weight.

In particular, nutritionist Taiz Brito shares 4 powerful foods that change the body:

1.    Ginger.

It is one of the world's most famous spices, as well as a natural weapon against viruses, inflammation, and various bacteria. In the context of glucose regulation,  Brito notes that ginger is rich in gingerol, a compound that is usually found in the amount of 1-3% (mainly in ginger rhizome) in the form of essential oil. Gingerol activates heat receptors.  Accordingly, ginger has anti-inflammatory properties and controls blood sugar levels.

2.    Green tea

Made from the Camellia sinensis plant, it is considered one of the healthiest drinks on the planet.

“With a large number of antioxidant compounds such as polyphenols and anti-inflammatory effects, green tea helps control blood sugar levels by improving insulin sensitivity,” the nutritionist emphasizes.

3.    Garlic

One of the most widespread and well-known members of the Onion genus, from which the Latin name Allium is derived. It is a medicinal and food crop that belongs to the spices and is a typical component of several national cuisines around the world.

 Garlic controls insulin production, which in turn helps reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes.

4.    Turmeric

According to a nutrition expert, it is “rich in antioxidant compounds, vitamins C and B6, as well as iron and calcium.” It also helps regulate glucose levels.
