A case has been sent to court regarding the former head of the Rivne Regional Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TCC), who is accused of official negligence during the purchase of 16 pickup trucks for the army. According to the investigation, improper control over price formation led to overpayment and losses to the state. This was reported by the Office of the Attorney General, according to UNN.
Prosecutors of the Rivne Specialized Defense Prosecution of the Western Region have sent an indictment to court against the 46-year-old former head of the regional territorial recruitment and social support center
He is accused of a negligent attitude toward military service, which caused over 830,000 UAH in damages to the state.
According to the investigation, between April and June 2023, the official entered into contracts for the purchase of 16 pickup trucks for the needs of the army using budget funds.
At the same time, he failed to ensure a proper verification of the vehicles' cost. Specifically, he did not instruct subordinates to verify the validity of the calculations and failed to personally monitor whether the prices complied with the requirements of the legislation on defense procurement.
As a result, the vehicles were purchased at inflated prices. The supplier's profit was unjustifiably included in their cost. Due to such improper control, the state budget suffered losses of over 830,000 UAH.
Addendum
In March 2024, the former head of the regional TCC was notified of suspicion under Part 4 of Art. 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The indictment has now been sent to court.
At the same time, in January 2024, an indictment was sent to court against him under Part 4 of Art. 186, Parts 2 and 3 of Art. 27, Part 2 of Art. 28, Part 5 of Art. 426-1, and Art. 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and in May 2025 – under Part 2 of Art. 28 and Part 1 of Art. 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
He is currently in custody.
