The liquefied natural gas tanker Mraikh, loaded in Qatar, is approaching the Strait of Hormuz following the entry into force of a temporary peace agreement between the US and Iran. This may indicate a gradual restoration of shipping through one of the world's key energy routes, Bloomberg reports, according to UNN.

According to vessel tracking data, the Mraikh, chartered by QatarEnergy, had been in the Persian Gulf for an extended period and is now heading to the Pakistani port of Qasim. The vessel has become one of the first LNG tankers to move along the route following the actual resumption of passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
Resumption of Gas Supplies
Bloomberg notes that due to shipping restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz, supplies of about one-fifth of the world's liquefied natural gas volume were disrupted. Following the signing of the agreement between Washington and Tehran, Qatar expects to restore a significant portion of its export capacity within two months.
The arrival of the Mraikh is also expected to partially alleviate the energy situation in Pakistan, which faced gas shortages after a reduction in supplies from Qatar. At the same time, it remains unknown whether this voyage is being carried out under separate agreements between Iran and Pakistan regarding the safe passage of tankers.
