The United States of America is trying to reach a peaceful agreement on Russia's war against Ukraine, but the Americans still need to learn "Putin's lessons" to understand who the Russian dictator really is. This was stated in an interview with LRT by European Commissioner for Defense Andrius Kubilius, reports UNN.

According to Kubilius, a "certain sobering up" is coming in Washington, and the initial enthusiasm will turn into a deeper understanding of reality. This, he believes, can be seen in the reaction of the markets, which is not always favorable to the Trump administration, as well as in the way Putin "simply ridiculed" the US president.
This will sober up the understanding that it is not always possible to achieve the desired results with such bravado as "we will agree immediately, offer Putin good relations, and that's it." In fact, this is not happening
He warned that the United States needs to have a better understanding that appeasement of dictators usually ends badly - in favor of the dictators, because when they feel the weakness of the West, they "only become more aggressive and arrogant."
