The Russian Federation is dropping leaflets from drones in the form of banknotes with calls for treason and QR codes. Scanning the code risks hacking the smartphone and data theft.

The Russian Federation is deploying a psychological operation in Bohodukhiv and the border areas of the Kharkiv region. This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (CCD), citing a report from the Bohodukhiv City Council, according to UNN.

Details

It is noted that the enemy is mass-dropping leaflets from drones that visually imitate Ukrainian hryvnia banknotes. These fakes contain calls for collaborationism, offers to "leak" the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and attempts to discredit the state leadership.

The leaflets are specifically folded to resemble real banknotes. The goal is to make a person pick up the paper and become interested in the content. The leaflets often feature QR codes. Scanning such a code leads to phishing resources or enemy channels, which can result in the hacking of your smartphone and the theft of personal data,

- the CCD warns.

They urge people not to follow suspicious links, not to pick up enemy propaganda materials, and to immediately report such findings to the police.

Recall

Russian propaganda continues its information campaign to discredit the Defense Forces of Ukraine. This time, a fake is being spread about alleged "barrier troops" of the National Guard of Ukraine, which supposedly prevent other units of the Defense Forces from leaving their positions.
