Due to Russian shelling, a mine in Donetsk region lost power, and electricity supply was limited in four regions

On March 26, due to damage caused by enemy attacks  , electricity was restricted in 4 regions - Odesa, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Khmelnytsky. A mine in Donetsk region, where 12 people were working, lost power due to shelling. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy on Wednesday, UNN reports .

Yesterday, due to significant damage and the inability to transmit the necessary volumes of electricity, hourly and emergency power outages were applied in Odesa, Kharkiv, Dnipro and Khmelnytskyi regions and during peak hours in Khmelnytskyi region, as instructed by NPC Ukrenergo dispatchers

-the Ministry of Energy said in a statement.

It is also reported that due to weather conditions, the heating season in Kamianske, Dnipropetrovs'k region, has been completed.

Also, at the command of NPC Ukrenergo, load reductions on RES facilities were applied from 16:07 to 17:14 in the amount of  398 MW.

"There is no shortage of electricity. Emergency assistance will not be involved," the Energy Ministry said.

Consequences of shelling

A mine in Donetsk region (12 people were working there) was de-energized due to the fighting. According to the Ministry of Energy, the mine has been repaired as of the morning.

As a result of the shelling, a 110 kV overhead line in Sumy region was disconnected, but there were no blackouts. The inspection revealed a broken wire, and the overhead line is under emergency repair.

The Ministry of Energy also reported that a UAV was spotted on the territory of a substation in Dnipropetrovs'k region. The staff was taken outside the substation and the State Emergency Service was called. The drone was removed from the substation.

More than 400 consumers in 6 settlements in Chernihiv region were cut off due to the shelling of overhead lines.

Networks status

Due to a technological malfunction, equipment at 110 kV substation in Odesa region, which supplies power to the railroad, was briefly out of service (train traffic was disrupted). The substation was promptly repaired. Train traffic has reportedly resumed.

Also, according to the agency, a 110 kV overhead line in Chernihiv region was disconnected for technical reasons, and the settlement was cut off. All consumers were supplied with electricity within 20 minutes.

Import/export

For the current day, electricity imports are projected at 12,702 MWh. No exports are expected, the Ministry of Energy added.
