Former serviceman of the 206th Territorial Defense Battalion and investigative journalist Volodymyr Boiko, representing the "Stop-Parasite" ("Grant Watch Ukraine") initiative, has alleged the embezzlement of international technical assistance by civic activists. According to him, the case involves $90 million within the framework of the "Promoting Integrity in the Public Sector (Pro-Integrit)" project. Boiko published the relevant post and documents on social media, UNN reports.
"To see the audacity with which professional 'civic activists' embezzle international aid allocated to Ukraine from the budgets of the US and Western European countries, one doesn't have to look far. It is enough to look at the website of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, which hosts the 'List of International Technical Assistance Projects'," Boiko wrote, providing documents and a list of non-governmental organizations that were among the recipients of the funding.
Among them are: NGO "Anti-Corruption Action Center," NGO "Interdisciplinary Anti-Corruption Research and Education Center," NGO "Center for Democratic Change 'Mezha'," NGO "Technologies of Progress," NGO "Hromadske Television," and others.
In his material, Boiko mentions the names of Daria Kaleniuk, Yaroslav Yurchyshyn, Martina Bohuslavets, Maksym Nefyodov, Mustafa Nayyem, Roman Skrypin, and others, linking them to the activities of the organizations receiving grant funds.
He also stated that some of the organizations receiving funds are not actively operating or have a minimal number of employees, while simultaneously managing significant volumes of grant financing. According to the investigative journalist, the main issue is the complete lack of transparency: where exactly do the millions of dollars go, who controls the expenditures, and what specific results has the state received?
"If 'civic activists' lived at the expense of the corrupt officials they serve, that would be only half the trouble. But they are embezzling international aid intended for Ukraine. We are talking not even about millions, but about hundreds of millions of dollars that were allocated to Ukraine by the governments of the US and European countries and ended up in the pockets of 'civic activists'," Boiko concluded.
