Damage to two processing units at the Syzran refinery after being struck by Ukrainian drones has been confirmed

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed damage to two primary oil refining units at the "Syzran" plant in the Samara region of the Russian Federation. Also, seven tankers and other vessels in the Sea of Azov were struck.

As a result of Ukrainian drone strikes on the oil refinery in Syzran, Samara region of the Russian Federation, two primary oil refining units were damaged. This is stated in a report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, writes UNN.

"On July 12, 2026 – based on the assessment of the consequences of the strike on the Syzran oil refinery in Syzran, Samara region of the Russian Federation, damage to two primary oil refining units, AVT-5 and AVT-6, has been confirmed," the General Staff reported.

The Syzran refinery is part of the Rosneft company structure and is one of the key enterprises of the fuel infrastructure in the region. Its nominal capacity is up to 8.9 million tons of oil per year. The enterprise produces gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, and aviation kerosene, which Russia actively supplies to its occupation forces for the war in Ukraine.

The plant is located more than 800 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

A video was published online showing an FP-1 drone, manufactured by Fire Point, hitting a pipe of the Syzran refinery.

Other strikes by the Defense Forces of Ukraine

The General Staff also confirmed that on the night of July 13, 2026, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine struck seven tankers, five dry cargo ships, two tugboats, and one ferry in the waters of the Sea of Azov.

"The tankers are used to transport Russian oil and petroleum products in circumvention of international sanctions, while the ferries provide military logistics and cargo transportation in the interests of the armed forces of the Russian Federation. Dry cargo ships and tugboats ensure the transportation of military cargo, equipment, material and technical means, and the functioning of the enemy's maritime logistics," the statement reads.

Also, in temporarily occupied Crimea, a Nebo-U radar station and a launcher of the S-400 anti-aircraft missile system were struck in the area of Kerch. The extent of the damage and the results of the strikes are being clarified.
