The Northern Economic Court of Appeal has overturned the order of the Ministry of Justice to cancel the illegal registration of state property of the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine in Pyrohiv to fictitious persons. This was stated by the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, UNN reports .
Details
The agency said that in the fall of 2020, a group of unidentified persons attempted raider seizure of real estate of non-residential buildings (with an area of more than 2500 square meters) and a land plot (with a total area of more than 17800 square meters), which the museum in Pirogov has been legally using since the 1970s (more than 50 years), by registering the relevant property in the names of fictitious persons.

In this regard, the museum applied for protection to the Anti-Raider Office of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine. The Office reviewed the complaint and, by order No. 3056/5 of 20.07.2022, canceled the illegal registration of state property to fictitious persons.
A criminal case was also initiated under the procedural supervision of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
However, the fraudsters decided to legalize the raider seizure through a court decision. By its decision of 26.02.2024 in case 910/15965/23, the Kyiv Commercial Court completely dismissed the claim and upheld the order of the Anti-Raider Office of the Ministry of Justice.
However, on 07.08.2024, the Northern Commercial Court of Appeal considered case 910/15965/23 and issued a ruling that overturned the decision of the Kyiv Commercial Court of 26.02.2024 in case 910/15965/23 and issued a new one - to satisfy the claim and cancel the order of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine No. 3056/5 of 20.07.2022.
By its actions, the Northern Commercial Court of Appeal has effectively legalized the raider seizure of part of the territory and premises of the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine (Pyrohiv)
The department emphasizes that the museum in Pyrohiv, with the support of the ICIP, will defend the interests of the state and appeal to the Supreme Court on this issue.
Also ICIP calls on concerned citizens to support the museum and publicize this issue.
