Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson plans to put to a vote a bill to help Ukraine after Easter. Republican Congressman Michael McCaul, chairman of the House International Relations Committee, said this on Sunday, UNN reports citing Voice of America.

McCaul refused to answer the host's question about whether the vote would take place on April 9, immediately after the House of Representatives returns to work after the Easter recess.
The congressman shared his belief that withdrawal of support for Ukraine would show the weakness of the United States.
If we lose in Ukraine like we did in Afghanistan, if we lose to Putin, if we let him take Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, if we abandon our allies like we did in Afghanistan, will that make the United States stronger or weaker? I think weaker.
McCaul noted that Johnson is "in a difficult situation" with regard to assistance to Ukraine, especially given that some Republican congressmen have begun the process of removing the speaker from office.

On Friday, US President Joe Biden called on the House of Representatives to pass a national security bill that includes $60 billion in aid to Ukraine. It has already been approved by the Senate. But the other chamber of the US Congress, the House of Representatives, has not yet voted on it.
