The Olympic Village in Paris offers a variety of pastries, but chocolate muffins have become a favorite treat. Norwegian swimmer Henrik Christiansen even proclaimed himself the "Olympic Cupcake Man" on TikTok, according to The New York Times, UNN reports.

"The Olympic Village in Paris was built with the important culinary traditions of France in mind. But the absolute hit among the world's best athletes was not a croissant or baguette, but something that would most likely be passed over in an American cafe. Chocolate muffin has become a favorite treat for this year's Olympians," the publication writes.
"They are very satisfying, and I like that," said Henrik Christiansen, a Norwegian swimmer who became the unofficial Olympic cupcake man on TikTok.
"Some people may think it's too much, but it's just like me," the Olympian said.
"Now the rumors have spread, inspiring other (enthusiastic) reviews, attempts to copy the recipes by TikTok creators," the publication writes.
As indicated, the chocolate muffins are only part of the more than 2,000 types of pastries served daily at the Olympic Village bakery, which is operated by Sodexo Live, the French catering company overseeing the Games' food preparation.
A company spokesperson said that the chefs keep the ingredients and recipe to themselves, but noted that 80 percent of the total food supply for the Games is purchased in France, and 25 percent is sourced from farms within 250 km of Paris, "so the cupcakes definitely have a real taste of France.
The bakery also prepares baguettes the size of an Olympic ring, croissants, chocolate buns, and focaccia, the publication writes.
