It is noted that King Charles III and Queen Camilla initially planned an official state visit to the Vatican as part of a four-day stay in Italy, but postponed it due to doctors' recommendations, who prescribed Pope Francis a two-month rest after severe bilateral pneumonia and 38 days in the hospital.
"During the conversation, the Pope had the opportunity to convey his best wishes to Their Majesties on the occasion of their wedding anniversary and to respond to His Majesty's wishes for a speedy recovery," the Vatican press service said in a statement.
