British actor John Nolan has died at the age of 87. This was reported by the Stratford-Upon-Avon Herald, writes UNN. The cause of death has not been disclosed.

John Nolan was the uncle of directors Jonathan and Christopher Nolan and appeared in their works multiple times. He played Wayne Enterprises board member Douglas Fredericks in "Batman Begins" (2005) and "The Dark Knight Rises" (2012), starring Christian Bale.

The actor also starred in Christopher Nolan's film "Following" (1998) and in the war drama "Dunkirk" (2017). In the series "Person of Interest," he played former MI6 agent John Greer in the second season and continued to work behind the scenes in over two dozen episodes of the fifth season.
Other works and theater
Among his other notable roles are the protagonist in the BBC miniseries "Daniel Deronda" (1970), scientist Geoff Hardcastle in the first two seasons of "Doomwatch" (1970–1971), and Nick Font in the ITV miniseries "Shabby Tiger" (1973). He last appeared on screen in an episode of the series "Dune: Prophecy" (2024).
Nolan received his theatrical education at the Drama Centre London, worked for two years with the Royal Shakespeare Company, performed on stage at the Richmond Theatre, and had roles in Royal Court productions.
John Nolan is survived by his wife, actress Kim Hartman, children Miranda and Tom, and two grandchildren.
